Howard commenced his career in South Africa as a financial analyst, where he gained valuable experience in emerging markets analysis and his research was highly rated in national surveys.

After emigrating to Australia in 1994, Howard joined Ernst & Young, where he was involved with a broad range of corporate advisory work including acquisitions, divestments and valuations.
